Located
in Imola, craddle of the Italian automotive industry offering an
amazing concentration of engineering
talent, Micro-Vett is today one of the leading European companies
with top level expertise in the field of electric vehicles.
Micro-Vett's technology is based on strategic choices, concerning the
conception of vehicles and the electric traction system.
Micro-Vett
deliberately chose
to use standard vehicles produced by major manufacturers. Their
capacities and reliability benefit from professionals' and consumers'
recognition. Standard vehicles have several impacts:
-
Logistic
and technical impact:
chassis, bodywork, spare parts (for non-electric systems) are easily
available. Car manufacturers can reply rapidly to increased demands,
thanks to their production logistics.
-
Technological
impact:
using standard vehicles guarantees
the availability of all the latest technologies (ABS, airbags,
EPS,etc.).
-
Economical
impact:
thanks to the economies of scale
gained
by mass-production, standard vehicles are far less expensive than
vehicles produced in limited production runs (for non-electrical
systems).
-
Psychological
impact:
the passage to electric vehicles requires major changes in terms of
driving, maintenance, habits, etc... Using standard vehicles
minimises this impact and avoids overwhelming the new user or
technician. Micro-Vett designs and develops electric vehicles that
can be easily adopted and used by everyone.
Since
1987, Micro-Vett's engineers have been
developing, integrating and testing high-end technology for electric
car traction.
-
Electric
motor: Thanks to over twenty years of experience, Micro-Vett
benefits from strong relationships with electric motor
manufacturers. Micro-Vett is regularly consulted for its expertise
in the development of new motors. This excellent knowledge of the
market enables Micro-Vett to always select the motor best-suited to
each vehicle, depending on parameters such as weight, payload,
desired performances...
-
Batteries:
the new generation of batteries – lithium batteries – has
allowed a major advance in the field of electric vehicles:
- No
more memory effect
- Easy
and rapid charging
- Equivalent
power of a lead battery at 25% of the weight and volume
- Approximately
3 times as many charge/discharge cycles and therefore a longer
battery life
- Far
greater efficiency under stress (such as on a steep slope) leading
to far greater vehicle autonomy
Micro-Vett
developed and tested the electronic control system of Thundersky
batteries (BMS) over a period of three years and now uses the latest
models of lithium-phosphate batteries. Micro-Vett now integrates this
technology in its vehicles, giving remarkable performances figures,
close to those of endothermic vehicles.
The
R&D Department at Micro-Vett is already working on the future
generations of batteries that will equip Micro-Vett's vehicles in the
years and decades to come.
Electronic
control system: a major part of Micro-Vett's know-how is defined by
its electronic control system. This “brain” carries out battery
diagnostics, identifies potential problems,
controls the charging of batteries, etc. Micro-Vett's electronic
control system guarantees the reliability and the security of its
vehicles.
Technical
and technological data are of premium importance... but they would be
useless without the recognition of users! Important facts about
Micro-Vett today:
- Twenty
years of experience, research and development and dedication to
electric vehicles.
- The
industrialization of electric vehicles: Micro-Vett vehicles are not
prototypes but are mass-produced.
- Over
4000 vehicles running everyday
- A
return rate
(during guarantee period) of 0,88%
- Support
of the ADEME (French Agency for Environment)
- The
trust of premium customers: Rome,
Oslo, Stockholm, Monaco, Cannes, Disneyland Paris, DHL, the Italian
Post Office...
