Outstanding victory for Fiat
When the electrical cars in Viking Rally were to show that they could drive Oslo – Stavanger in three days – Micro-Vetts Fiat Florino did it in 12 hours.... The 24th Electric Symposium (EVS24) opened with 30 cars in the Viking Rally. The aim of the rally was not to drive the fastest but to show that electrical cars are a realistic alternative. IF it had been a speed rally Micro Vett and GO Green Holdings Fiat Florino would have shown superiority with a win. While the others took 3 days Mr Slordal drove the 586kilometers Stavanger-Oslo in 12 hours 42 minutes. “ The others prove that an electrical can function we prove it can function over longer distances in a short time” – Mr Slordal says. The difference is that Micro Vett’s cars have Lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged where the electric capacity (power) is sufficient. After about a drive of 200 kilometres the car will need a 25 minute recharge with 250 amp, but the infrastructure is missing. And that is why Go Green and Micro-Vett had their own plug-in hybrid car with a transformer. And hence electricity “along the route” transformed to 125 amp and recharged the car in 40 minutes. And we now believe we have set a world record in for electrical cars – Stavanger-Oslo -586kilometers, time: 12 hours 42 minutes, says a very pleased Mr Slordal |
