Further to La Poste's call-for-tender concerning the purchase of 500 electric vehicles, Micro-Vett and Newteon, in association with Fiat Professional were shortlisted. Distributed by Newteon in France, Micro-Vett's electric technology incorporated on a Fiat Doblo convinced La Poste who is looking for innovative solutions in the field of sustainable mobility. The solution offered by Micro-Vett/Newteon and Fiat has been shortlisted further to the consultation launched in April 2007.A prototype will be delivered to La Poste and tested during the summer period. At the end of this phase, 4 or 5 vehicles will be delivered as a pre-serie and tested in real conditions by postmen during autumn. In a first time, La Poste's goal is to purchase 500 electric vehicles and in a second time, to increase this amount to 10 000 vehicles within five years. Air pollution is a rising and pervasive threat to cardiovascular
health, but most Canadians don't realize the danger, says the Heart and
Stroke Foundation of Canada. In its annual report on Canadians'
health, the foundation said short-and long-term
exposure to year-round air pollution is contributing to thousands of
deaths across the country each year.
