| Lyon wants to set up an urban toll |

The city of Lyon adopted in June, 2008 the Plan of Atmosphere Protection to fight against the automobile pollution, to reduce the traffic and improve the air quality. The plan recommends and foresees 23 measures, among which a ban on the most polluting vehicles, a decrease of the speed and an urban toll by 2010.
Its ambition: a decrease from 20 to 30 % of the traffic on the horizon 2010. The urban toll arouses a big debate all over the world! For the town of Lyon, the launch of a feasibility study would be planned to examine diverse types of tolls, systems of pricing and legal conditions.
