Presentation
Cannes presents its new electric vehicles
On July 16th, the City of Cannes presented its new electric vehicles of which 15 are supplied by NEWTEON. Mr Brochand, Deputy and Mayor of Cannes was present.

Member of the Comité 21, Cannes practices an active environmental policy including the use of electric vehicles.

Sergio Contaldo, General Manager of NEWTEON, presented the 15 NEWTEON's vehicles ordered by Cannes to Bernard Brochand: 14 Electric Porter blindvan with lead batteries and one Electric Porter trash collector with lithium batteries.

inauguration-newteon-cannes1.JPGMr Brochand showed a lot of interest and enthusiasm and also confirmed Cannes' ambition to go further in this direction for ecological reasons, on the one hand, and for economical reasons on the other hand. Cannes is totally aware that electric vehicles are carbon neutral but they offer reduced current costs, despite a superior purchasing cost. Considered on several years, choosing electric vehicles is a more economic solution than endothermic vehicles.

As an example, NEWTEON's Electric Porter costs 1€/100km and can benefit from Government financial support (in France, it consists in a bonus of 3200€).

Many journalists and personalities attended the presentation such as Jacques Mollard, President of AVERE France.
